Just a few minutes walk from the stunning Leeds Castle in Kent, lies the beautiful, quintessentially English village of Hollingbourne and like most villages it boasts traditional pubs and a village shop.
The shop was recently taken over by local family, the Woods and they have transformed it into a lively hub where locals, people staying over at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel, Maidstone and other visitors to the area can pop in for household essentials, a freshly prepared hot snack, barista style coffee or something tempting from the locally produced artisan food selection or carefully selected, ale, beer, wine and champagne collection.
I highly recommend a visit! This little gem is tucked away just minutes from the M20, so is easy to get to and will delight you when you arrive. Pick up something special for lunch or dinner or just take ten minutes out to enjoy a coffee and a chat. One thing you can be sure of is a lovely atmosphere and very warm welcome.
I enjoyed taking these photos and was surprised just how busy this little shop can be. It also showed the importance of these shops in our small villages. This shop will always have a special place in hearts of the local residents who have come to rely on it and now that it has been transformed into such a special place, I'm sure it will delight for years to come. Good luck to the Woods and I look forward to popping in for coffee and a treat or two very soon! https://www.woodsofhollingbourne.co.uk
